Letting go...a letter to my brother
by Brigid indear friends and fellow sojourners,.
as i posted sometime back, i have been grappling with my last fear from the wtbts--that is, saying good-bye to my mother and brother who are still in the organization by revealing that not only have i left but am now what they consider an apostate.
it has come to me, that i must do this to be finally free of the last vestiges of "hold" that the organization still has on me.

leigh park is a massive housing complex owned by portsmouth city council.
it houses those who cant afford their own homes by offering subsidised rents.

It's my last day at work tomorrow
by ballistic inif anyone was reading a post of mine a few months back, i posted that i was doing a course and some exams for work and that the announcement was made shortly after i started the course that i was being made redundant.
well... tomorrow is my last day!!!
(or to be precise last half day as we're all going to the pub at lunch time and i wont be returning) .

Why wouldn't they reinstate them?
by hamsterbait ini am just thinking about all those df over issues which are now notorious for flip flopping.. when the wt has to change on the 607 thing - that is coming up i am sure - will those who disagreed with 607 be reinstated without further ado?.
does anybody know of people df for taking transplants who are reinstated now after the flop, or would it be a flip?.
when the now obviously imploding blood policy finally changes, how likely are those shunned for having a transfusion to be forgiven without them being the ones who have to grovel to the reptiles in brothel?.

I doubt it will happen even if those DF'd were proven to be right all along.
The official line will be that those ones showed a rebellious spirit and ran ahead of the organisation. Their crime will be that they ignored the word of the slave class.
I still think it stinks though

Is it just the coming of age fad for kids today , or is there an underlying emotional problem linked to wanting to tattoo and put holes in yourself ?
Like you said, its just a coming of age thing, an outward sign of rebellion against his parents and their generation. Its just a way of saying "I'm here, this is me, I'm not under my parents control anymore, I'm independent and have my own mind" I went through the same thing but with tattoos and I wasn't rebelling against my parents I was rebelling against the org I bet if you said they were cool and went out and got one before he did he'd drop the Idea -

There is *one* way you could talk him out of it. lol
Tell him you've noticed that facial piercings are really in with "gays" (use that term, it'll make him wince lol) then go right over the top with the concerned mommy act and ask him if hes gay, he'll flip that his mum thinks hes gay and forget the idea
lol
Finish off the conversation with something like "look honey I don't mind if my little babys gay, why don't you bring your boyfriend home for dinner one Sunday"
lol
Of course this could all go horribly wrong and backfire if he really is gay

18 yr olds still get into fights. If its a ring he stands a fair chance of having his lip ripped open if the ring gets caught in a fight, if its a stud there's a fair chance that during a fight the stud could shatter a tooth if he takes a punch straight on the pierced area.
